Dr. Kaylee Wood grew up in Cambridge, Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Biomedical Science with Honours in 2011 and her Doctor of Optometry with Honours in 2015 from the University of Waterloo. She was awarded the AOF Award of Excellence for Contact Lens Patient Care. As well, she is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and has a special interest in dry eye, pediatrics, and contact lenses.
Dr. Wood is passionate about community involvement and is a former president of the Volunteer Optometric Services of Ontario. She is also a former member of the Cambridge (Preston-Hespeler) Rotary Club. She is the 2013 recipient of the Roland and Margaret des Groseilliers Humanitarian Award.
Currently, Dr. Wood is an active member of the eye care team for Indigenous Children’s Eye Exams (ICEE), an organization that provides vision and ocular health services to children in remote communities in Northern Ontario.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Wood enjoys playing ball hockey, travelling, and spending time at the cottage with her husband and two boys.
